My patience, my support of others, and my appreciation of life
Do you have any undesirable qualities?
Sometimes I do not advocate for myself and say "yes" to things that I really don't want to do.
What do you love the most about your body?
I love that my body enables me to do everything that I enjoy doing.
Tell us the story about your scars...
My stretch marks are mostly from the three pregnancies that I have fortunately had. They represent the growth and expansion of my body when pregnant. Truly incredible!
What was your response when you first noticed your body changing?
Huh,... this makes sense!
How did those around you make you feel about these changes?
I haven't had any negative reactions to my stretch marks. They seem
pretty natural.
Describe your journey with body acceptance...
When in my early twenties, I struggled with taking proper care of myself. I became a poorly nourished vegetarian, who did not have a well balanced diet. I became very, very thin. I didn't see my body and being unhealthy. Fortunately had close friends and family who helped me recognize this. As I changed and improved my diet and self care, I became healthier. I grew to better appreciate and care for my body.
How do you incorporate self-love into your routine?
Today, I am aging well into my senior years. I try to stay balanced with sleep, exercise, diet, and work/leisure life.
What about self-love are you continuing to work on?
I am "listening" to my body more. If I am tired, I rest. If I am hungry, I eat. If I am stressed, I take a break, walking or doing yoga.
What is one of your qualities you wish shined brighter than your exterior appearance?
My creativity.
What lesson do you hope to instill in your children about self-love & body acceptance?
I want my children to love, care for, and appreciated themselves.
What makes you the happiest in the world?
My children
