What are your best qualities?

I would say my love for people and community. My passion for standing up for myself and others. It can come off harsh but I will do anything to help people who need it.

Do you have any undesirable qualities?

Oh I have plenty. I am the queen of self-sabotage, I can slip into self harming habits, and I always put others before myself. Which can all lead to me burning out and self isolating for far too long.

What do you love the most about your body?

I love my womanly body. I no longer represent my young adult body and as of recently, I have fallen in love with that. I love my curves.

What was your response when you first noticed your body changing?

I was horrified honestly. I had always been 115lb, a bubble butt, small boobs, flat stomach and a thigh gap. Slowly I started to love the changes though. I finally had boobs, something I always wanted. With that, everything else grew larger as well and I didn’t even recognize my body anymore. But now, I wouldn’t want to go back to my old body.

How did those around you make you feel about these changes?

Not great, that’s for sure. Overall it was pretty negative. I had to get used to people close to me making fat jokes, telling me I shouldn’t eat so much, advising me to go for more walks or go to the gym.

Describe your journey with body acceptance...

It was a slow and long journey. I am happy to be where I am today.

How do you incorporate self-love into your routine?

I don’t speak negatively about my appearance. I try to tell myself only kind things.

What about self-love are you continuing to work on?

Not being so hard on myself, and listening to my body more.

What is one of your qualities you wish shined brighter than your exterior appearance?

My intelligence. I feel like people underestimate me because of my appearance.

What lesson do you hope to instill in your children about self-love & body acceptance?

I love this question and it kind of makes me emotional. I will never make any negative comments about my kids (when I have them) bodies or appearance. I want them to know true acceptance and love from everyone close to them.

What makes you the happiest in the world?

My friends and family. I couldn’t do life without them.

What is something you wish you could have told yourself at your most fragile state?

It’s so cliche, but “everything will be okay, you are stronger than you think”.
